M g-grandfather, SGT John Robert Murray was from Earltown nova scotia and signed up for the 1st world war in 1916. He was in the 85th Battilion stationed in France. He died from wounds on Nov. 06 1918. He earned a Distinguished Conduct Medal after taking his Men to safety.
