John Henry Clark & Laura Alice Roberts in Georgia circa 1916 I was told John Clark had a dairy farm down off Bouldercrest Rd in Atlanta years ago. In the photo is his son and daughter in law and grandchild. Names in this photo:John Henry Clark, Laura Alice Roberts, Joseph Cullman Clark, Sally Elizabeth Canup, and Mildred Elizabeth Clark.

Daisy Lillian Spivey
Daisy was the oldest child of William James Spivey & Ludie Maud Clark of Meriwether Ga. She was my grandmother.

Photo from Meriwether Georgia.I would Guess early 1900.
This photo was in the possession of my grandmother Daisy Spivey Cocchi. Daisy is the daughter of William James Spivey of Meriwether Ga. My mother remembers her mother Daisy telling her at one time this man was a Spivey, but Mom is 75 and she can't remember what Daisy said his first name was or who he was. These Spivey's lived in Gay Community in Meriwether Ga. before 1919. These Spivey's are also related to the Clarks of Meriwether.He could also very well be a Clark. Sure would like to know for sure who this man is.

William James was the son of James J. Spivey of Meriwether Ga. and Grandson of Jordon Spivey of Elmore Co. Al.William's wife Ludie Maud Clark daughter of John Henry Clark.She died after childbirth of Influenzia Jan.23, 1919,Baby girl Spivey Jan. 16,1919-Jan.17-1919. and William James Spivey Shot his self in the head Dec. 31, 1919.

Maud and Daisy were the oldest children of William James Spivey and Ludie Maud Clark. All the children went to live with their grandparents John Henry Clark and Laura Alice Roberts. After 1 year the 3rd,4th,5th,6th,7th,8th, child was placed in Thornwells Children home in Clinton S. C.The 9th child John Earl Spivey stayed with his grandparents.

Amos & Turner Clark were the twin brothers of my gggrandfather James Washington Clark, who was killed in Richmond. Amos returned home and married his brother's wife and raised James' children along with 4 or 5 more by his brothers widow, Caroline. All 3 brothers fought together, and they were the sons of Samuel Thomas Clark & Susana Masters.

I think this is at a nightclub in Atlanta not in the hospital. My father Robert Turner lost his right arm and was prisoner of war. He had returned home to the states and they sent him to Lawson General Hospital.The lady is not my mother. She is unknown. Mom and Dad met about this time.

John Clark applied for guardianship of the Spivey children after the close together death of their parents William James Spivey & Ludie Maud Clark in 1919. My grandmother always called it Gay Georgia. William was the son of James J Spivey & Elizebrth (Besty) Mitchell, grandson of Jordon Spivey and Sarah Chapell Tweety. All of Meriwether County Georgia.
They have the children listed as Clarks. Six of the children were placed in Thornwell Childrens Home in Clinton S. C. in 1921.

Glady's Christine Spivey Bowman
Glady's was the 4th child of William James Spivey & Ludie Maud Clark of Meriwether Georgia. She was born Sept.5,1907 in Meriwether Georgia in the Gay Community. Her husband Ralph Bowman was also from Meriwether. Ralph and Glady's went to school together at Rockey Mount School 1916. I belive that is Ralph sitting next to Glady's in the class picture.
