Obituary of Mahlon Alkire's wife Mary
The obituary of Mahlon's wife Mary C Kearns Alkire mentions Mahlon dying from measles and malnutrition. He was captured by Confederate forces in July of 1864 at the Battle of Monocacy in Maryland. He was in Belle Isle and Libby prisons.

The obituary of Mahlon's wife Mary C Kearns Alkire mentions Mahlon dying from measles and malnutrition. He was captured by Confederate forces in July of 1864 at the Battle of Monocacy in Maryland. He was in Belle Isle and Libby prisons.
