According to the 1940 federal census, Glenn was 12 years old and living with his parents Andrew (47) and Zona (45) and was in the 5th grade. Also in the household were siblings Dalton (age 25), Lillie Mae (18), Ola (17), Maxie (16), Virgie (14), Nora Pearl (5), Ruby (22), and grandchildren Patricia Keeler, age 2, and Wanda Joy, age 1. Glenn was 5 ft 10 inches tall and weighed 170 lbs, had hazel eyes, brown hair, and a "ruddy" complexion. A veteran, Glenn enlisted in the United States Army on September 22nd 1950 and was discharged on June 23rd 1952. He went on to marry Elwanda Ioan Sturgill (1923-2002) and they had children Truman Honeycutt (1943 - 1957).
