Sutomo is an Indonesia national hero. He is known for his role as an Indonesian military leader during the Indonesian National Revolution against the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
This photo is taken during the Battle of Surabaya.

An Indonesian politician, and revolutionary independence leader, first prime minister of Indonesia.

I have a photograph of Mary TYER which appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's. Mary appears to be in her teens or 20's at the time the photograph was taken. There is no studio or location indicated, however, Mary is identified as "Aunt to Grace PADGHAM". I believe that Grace is Grace Myrtle DIDDY PADGHAM who was the daughter of Mary's sister Harriet TYER.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Mary and her family:

Mary Louisa TYER was b. 27 Sept 1857 in Adel, IA to parents John TYER (1820-1874) and Harriet N. FRANKLIN (1820-1905) who were married 15 May 1841 in Marylebone, Middlesex, England. Mary was one of 7 children born to this couple including John Musgrove; Henry George; Charles Franklin; Frederick “Fred” William; Edward; Harriet “Hattie” Elizabeth; and Mary Louisa TYER, all born between 1842 and 1857.

Mary died on 5 May 1929 in Adel, IA and is buried there as well. Her sister Hattie married Marion Levi DIDDY (1849-1918) and they had four children including Harriet Mae; Marion Clinton; Charles Walter; and Grace Myrtle DIDDY, all born between 1877 and 1891.

Grace was b. 1 Mar 1881 in Perry, IA and married George Walter PADGHAM (1880-1954) in Perry, IA on 29 Jun 1910. The couple had three children including Baby PADGHAM born and died in 1912; Walter Henry or Harry PADGHAM (1914-1992); and Helen Elizabeth PADGHAM (b. 1918).

Grace died 9 Dec 1962 in Los Angeles, CA.
