Abbie E. Wade Royce
I have an old studio photograph of Abbie WADE (Mrs. Andrew ROYCE) which was taken at the E. P. Dunshee Studio in Boston, MA and dated 1877. Abbie is also identified as "Cousin" and appears to be in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Abbie and her family:
Abbie E. WADE was b. 12 Aug 1853 in Stowe, VT to parents George Smith WADE (1822-1910) and Mary M. CLOUGH (1824-1912) who were married 1 Nov 1845 in Lowell, MA. Abbie was one of 5 children born to this couple including George A.; Abbie E.; Jessie B.; Elmer Ellsworth or Elsworth; and Mary Georgiana “Georgie” WADE, all born between 1847 and 1870. Abbie married Andrew Alvin ROYCE (1861-1941) on 19 Sept 1882 in Moretown or Stowe, VT and she died in 1909 and is buried in the Riverbank Cemetery in Stowe, VT.
I am hoping to get this photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

That's interesting Derek. I didn't know the Wade family was originally from North east England. I always thought Wade was Irish in origin.

The Vikings began raiding the NE England with a raid on the Holy Isle in ad 793. They persisted for several hundred years after that. Indeed, what became one of the main cities of the North, York, obtained it's name from the Vikings_Yorvik. Today it has an excellent living museum to those days. Back to Wade: I understand that it is derived from the Norsk for sea serpent. In the main the Wade's (and Jennings or Ginnings of Ireland) were an English transplant from the days was all Ireland was part of GB.

Well I have the Stoutenburg's, Thompson, Lozar. In my line. My moms great grandmother is Myrtle F Stountenburg. Married the Doctor Charles H Lozar. Her father is James Edward Stoutenburg. There is a Luke Stoutenburg in this line. They are all living in Sanalic County Michigan. There are alot of them. Lizzie Orouke is his wife. I have posted the papers I have about the Stoutenburgs. My Thompsons are connected to them too.
