On the border between Germany and Switzerland there is two lakes. One the Ubersee and the other the Untersee. A man that came from there was called the man from the Untersee. As the descendants migrated further into Germany the family head was called Unterseer. Eventually in the area just south of Augsburg Germany an Unterseher man was very religious and spoke about God. That was when the Surnames were just beginning to be used and the "under seer" became the Unterseher. Albert Unterseher was so determined to preach about God that her held open air meetings on the Danube River at Lauingen Germany. He later lead families to Southern Russia at the request of Catherine the Great (German Princess) of Russia. The area is now known as Ukraine.
