OBITUARY.
Our Wedderburn correspondent writes.-
Mr. John Twiddy, a highly respected resident,
eldest son of one of the old pioneer families of Wedderburn,
died in Melbourne on Sunday, and was buried here on Tuesday.
The deceased gentleman, who was 56 years of age, had
been in Melbourne under medical treatment for some
months. A widow survives. Deceased was a brother of
Mr. George Twiddy, Mrs. Gregson, Mrs. F. J. Petterd
(Wedderburn), Mrs. Roberts ( Bendigo ), and Mrs. Starr
(Melbourne).

Mr. John Twiddy, a well known resident, was
accidentally thrown from a cart yesterday, and
sustained fractures of several ribs.
John worked on a lot of different farms in N.S.W.,
Tank sinking.-digging the earth out on a property for a dam,
usually with a team of bullocks or draught horses.

A telegram from the Bendigo Hospital announcing
the death of "Bert" Twiddy on Saturday morning
from pneumonia caused a sensation here.
Deceased was a member of the bakery firm of
Twiddy and Sons, and till recently was a popular
contributor to all the entertainments in the district.
Some months ago deceased was incapacitated from
his duties by sore eyes. This gradually deranged his
mind, and about 10 days ago he was re-admitted to
the hospital for observation when pneumonia set in.
