I only have a vague recollection of Evelyn and her brother Bruce, we were all very young and of course had no inkling that we had a sibling in common.
I'll copy here the story I related on Bruce's biography:
I was quite small (perhaps three) but I have a fuzzy memory of playing with Bruce & Evelyn, never imagin-ing that we shared a sibling (and of course we were all far too young to have any comprehension of adult machinations -- I'm fast approaching my golden years and I still don't understand the complexities of relationships!) but none of us had any idea how to play cards back then; I just remember that we had a deck of cards and relying not on decades-old memories but assuming that when three small children and a deck of cards get together the result is always the same. The harried mother gets to play 52-card pickup . . . 49 . . . 50 . . where the heck is the rest of that deck? those darn kids!
After placing my half-brother (raised as Gary Everett Trautmann) up for adoption, his biological mother married and had two children with her husband, a son, Bruce, and a daughter I believe was named Evelyn. I've been told that Carol (nee O'Connor) also had another daughter that was also placed for adoption. I believe my source for that information to be reliable (Carol's brother, Brian Keith O'Connor), but I don't have any other information about siblings my brother Gary has through his biological mother. Surprisingly, my half-brother's "first" mother and my mother had been friends before Carol became involved with my father, and the friendship resumed after my parents divorced.

My father's son by Carol O'Connor. Gary has told me of a good life growing up in an adoptive family near St. Louis. He loves and respects his parents.
