Richard Tims aka "Tim" to some, was a Marine who fought in the Korean War. He was one of the Chosin Few. Wounded, he received the Purple Heart. While recovering in a hospital in Chicago, IL, he sneaked out to a dance where he met my grandmother, Wilma J Cech and her two sisters Joan and Joyce. They were soon married after, had 6 children together (Grandma had 2 from a previous marriage) and lived in Chicago until either 1969 or 1970-71, where then they moved to Maryville (now known as Hillview) Kentucky in a neighborhood called Lees Acres. grandpa worked for National Harvester over by the airport until he retired. They realized they needed a tiny bit more room, so they started renting a house on West Triangle Ln - it used to be 2204 W. Triangle Ln, but was changed to 381 due to the fire department regulations. This is located in BULLITT County KY, not Jefferson (as listed in the bio), but it is referred to as Louisville, KY by the post office as it shares the Louisville zip code 40229 with those in southern Jefferson county. He resided there until he fell ill and was in a nursing home, then moved to the hospital where he passed peacefully with one of his sons (my father) and his daughter-in-law by his side. He is truly missed. He was one who was full of life, jokes, and curse words! lol He loved to argue, be right, and talk. He wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but he could sure charm you if he wanted to.

John M. Tims was born 1795 in South Carolina, moved to Choctaw, Alabama about 1845 to 1850, then settled in Smith County, Missippi with his wife, Abagail Jones and family. His son, Timothy T. Tims 1827-1900, married Jane Husbands (part Choctaw), their son, Alford Oliver Tims 1874-1954 married Ida Mae Banks 1882-1953. They all died in Mississippi except Alford and Ida who moved to Texas about 1918. The Tims and Husbands were dark skinned people.

I John Tims do make and publish this as my Last Will & Testament hereby revoking and making void all others made by me at anytime made. First I give and bequeath to John C. Tims my son my Negro boy Peter and Synthia Negro girl and George Washington a Negro boy to have and to hold forever at the death of my wife Sally that I am now living with: Secondly I will that Tilda my daughter that married Wm. Starkey have my Negro woman Sithe and Crecy & Axis, Sithes youngest child to have and to hold forever at the death of my wife Sally the mother of John C. Tims & Tilda Starkey. 3rd I will that the increase of the above named Negroes be equally divided between Jno C. Tims & Tilda Starkey at their mothers death. W.T. and Jinny moved from Toone, Tn. to Tuckerman, Jackson Co. Ark. In 1875. W.T. Tims worked for the Iron Mountain Railroad Company and was also a Farmer. He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He enlisted at Trenton Tennesse in 1861 under Woods Regiment of 22 TN. INF. He was also in the 13th Tn. Cav. and Newsomes Calvary Regiment and rose to the rank of 2nd Lt. He was Wounded by a canon ball blast that left him with a broken right arm and wounds to his face and captured by the Yankee’s and put in prison at Ft. Delaware, Del. He remained there till the close of the war, then returned home to Toone, Tn. where he farmed and also worked for the Railroad. He drew a Pension from the State of Arkansas until his death Jan. 25, 1913. He is burried in Gracelawn Cemetery in Tuckerman, Ar. Jinny was b. Feb. 16, 1842 in Lincoln Co. Tn. and d. Dec. 21, 1892 in Tuckerman, Ark. W.T. Tims remarried Doris (Williams) Herman in 1894. They are the parents of one daughter Sula B. Foley b. Nov. 11, 1903 In Tuckerman, Ark. Md. Nov. 19, 1919 John Wesley Foley b. Jan 07, 1901 d. Apr. 15, 1975. Sula d. Apr. 01, 1935 in Tuckerman, Ark., they are the parents of the following known children: Johnnie Sue, and William Charles Foley. W.T. Tims d. Jan. 25, 1913 in Tuckerman, Ark. Wiseman Monroe Tims
Wiseman Monroe Tims was born Jan. 25, 1863 in Madison County, Tennessee to Wiseman Tracy Tims and Virginia Jane Matthis. He moved to Jackson County, Arkansas with his parents in 1875, locating in the town of Tuckerman. He married Lillie Kathyrn Parrott Jan. 31, 1887 in Tuckerman, Ark. She is the daughter of William H. Parrott and Martha Ann Darden. W.M. and Kathyrn Tims are the parents of ten children of which there are three sets of twins as follows; Ada & Ida, Andrew Jackson & Charles Lee, Lucy, Thomas Judson, Virgil Cook, Lela & Lily, and Gladys Josephine Tims. Ada Tims was born Nov. 30, 1887 and married Talmadge Dewitt Kennedy b. 1882 d. 1956, Jan. 20, 1906. Ada died July 17, 1963 they are the parents of the following known children: Imogene Kennedy, Keith Carl Kennedy, Alice Mae Kennedy, Marjorie Kennedy, Dorthey Kennedy, Ada Kaye Kennedy, Frances Ida Kennedy, and Merle Sue Kennedy Billy Roe (Kennedy) Parrott. Ida Tims was born Nov. 30, 1887. She married her second cousin Joseph Thomas Parrott b. Sep. 30, 1889 d. Feb. 04, 1954, Sep. 30, 1914 they are the parents of the following children: Joseph Thomas Parrott Jr., and Martha Lou Parrott, they adopted Billy Roe (Kennedy) Parrott. Ida died Mar. 12, 1983. Lee died Jul. 23, 1978 they are the parents of the following known children: Lindell Tims, Henry Lee Tims, Thomas Judson Tims, Wiseman Monroe Tims, Alice Mae Tims, and Jeane Tims. Lucy Tims was born Jun. 21, 1895. She married Robert A. Ivy b. Apr. 08, 1894 d. Dec. 14, 1962, Feb. 4, 1914. Lucy died Nov. 5, 1972 they are the parents of the following known children: Carmon Ivy, and Mildred Ivy. Thomas Judson Tims was born Jul. 8, 1896. He married Gladys Mopter May 20, 1918. He died Apr. 14, 1976 no children were born of this marriage. Virgil Cook Tims was born Dec. 27, 1899. He married Ethel Greenhaw b. May 03, 1907 d. Apr. 16, 1972. Virgil died Oct. 18, 1971 They are the parents of the following known children: Gerald Tims, Helen Dale Tims, and Sylvia Tims. Lela Tims was born Jan. 20, 1902. She married Feb. 24, 1924 to Robert G. Holden b. Feb. 23, 1897 d. Sep. 24, 1974, they have one daughter, Mary Alice Holden. Lily Tims was born Jan. 20, 1902. She first married Lee Ivy. She married second Luther Hughes. She died Nov. 18, 1998 no children from either marriage. Gladys Josephine Paula Tims was born Feb. 20, 1906. She married first to Tipton Cox Feb. 20, 1919. She married second William York. She married third Jackson Mark. She married fourth Richard Steinhoff. Gladys died July 10, 1980 She had one child by William York, Billy York. Wiseman Monroe Tims Died Oct. 19, 1944. He is buried in Gracelawn Cemetery in Tuckerman, Ark. Lillie Kathyrn died Jun. 8, 1923. She is buried in the Parrott/Tims Cemetery in Tuckerman, Ark.

Children: Andrew Judson Tims, Troy Edward Tims, Larry Joe Tims, Eddie Dewayne Tims, Talma Jean Tims, Gail Lynn Tims, and Tamma Marie Tims. Troy Lee Tims born Oct. 20. 1920. Md. 1947 Miss Maxine Swaffar . Died Aug. 27, 1980 Children: Brenda Tims, Dewey Tims, and Deniece Tims. Daisy D. Tims born Nov. 14, 1922. Md. Brion Ormsby Children: Linda, Brian, Jimmy. I John Tims do make and publish this as my Last Will & Testament hereby revoking and making void all others made by me at anytime made. First I give and bequeath to John C. Tims my son my Negro boy Peter and Synthia Negro girl and George Washington a Negro boy to have and to hold forever at the death of my wife Sally that I am now living with: Secondly I will that Tilda my daughter that married Wm. Starkey have my Negro woman Sithe and Crecy & Axis, Sithes youngest child to have and to hold forever at the death of my wife Sally the mother of John C. W.T. and Jinny moved from Toone, Tn. to Tuckerman, Jackson Co. Ark. In 1875. W.T. Tims worked for the Iron Mountain Railroad Company and was also a Farmer. He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He enlisted at Trenton Tennesse in 1861 under Woods Regiment of 22 TN. INF. He was also in the 13th Tn. Cav. and Newsomes Calvary Regiment and rose to the rank of 2nd Lt. He was Wounded by a canon ball blast that left him with a broken right arm and wounds to his face and captured by the Yankee’s and put in prison at Ft. Delaware, Del. He remained there till the close of the war, then returned home to Toone, Tn. where he farmed and also worked for the Railroad. He drew a Pension from the State of Arkansas until his death Jan. 25, 1913. He is burried in Gracelawn Cemetery in Tuckerman, Ar. Jinny was b. Feb. 16, 1842 in Lincoln Co. Tn. and d. Dec. 21, 1892 in Tuckerman, Ark. W.T. Tims remarried Doris (Williams) Herman in 1894. They are the parents of one daughter Sula B. Foley b. Nov. 11, 1903 In Tuckerman, Ark. Md. Nov. 19, 1919 John Wesley Foley b. Jan 07, 1901 d. Apr. 15, 1975. Sula d. Apr. 01, 1935 in Tuckerman, Ark., they are the parents of the following known children: Johnnie Sue, and William Charles Foley. W.T. Tims d. Jan. 25, 1913 in Tuckerman, Ark. Wiseman Monroe Tims
Wiseman Monroe Tims was born Jan. 25, 1863 in Madison County, Tennessee to Wiseman Tracy Tims and Virginia Jane Matthis. He moved to Jackson County, Arkansas with his parents in 1875, locating in the town of Tuckerman. He married Lillie Kathyrn Parrott Jan. 31, 1887 in Tuckerman, Ark. She is the daughter of William H. Parrott and Martha Ann Darden. W.M. and Kathyrn Tims are the parents of ten children of which there are three sets of twins as follows; Ada & Ida, Andrew Jackson & Charles Lee, Lucy, Thomas Judson, Virgil Cook, Lela & Lily, and Gladys Josephine Tims. Ada Tims was born Nov. 30, 1887 and married Talmadge Dewitt Kennedy b. 1882 d. 1956, Jan. 20, 1906. Ada died July 17, 1963 they are the parents of the following known children: Imogene Kennedy, Keith Carl Kennedy, Alice Mae Kennedy, Marjorie Kennedy, Dorthey Kennedy, Ada Kaye Kennedy, Frances Ida Kennedy, and Merle Sue Kennedy Billy Roe (Kennedy) Parrott. Ida Tims was born Nov. 30, 1887. She married her second cousin Joseph Thomas Parrott b. Sep. 30, 1889 d. Feb. 04, 1954, Sep. 30, 1914 they are the parents of the following children: Joseph Thomas Parrott Jr., and Martha Lou Parrott, they adopted Billy Roe (Kennedy) Parrott. Ida died Mar. 12, 1983. Charles Lee Tims was born Jun. 19, 1891. He married Esther Greenhaw b. Aug. 26, 1896 d. Nov. 11, 1976, Dec. 30, 1912. Lee died Jul. 23, 1978 they are the parents of the following known children: Lindell Tims, Henry Lee Tims, Thomas Judson Tims, Wiseman Monroe Tims, Alice Mae Tims, and Jeane Tims. Lucy Tims was born Jun. 21, 1895. She married Robert A. Ivy b. Apr. 08, 1894 d. Dec. 14, 1962, Feb. 4, 1914. Lucy died Nov. 5, 1972 they are the parents of the following known children: Carmon Ivy, and Mildred Ivy. Thomas Judson Tims was born Jul. 8, 1896. He married Gladys Mopter May 20, 1918. He died Apr. 14, 1976 no children were born of this marriage. Virgil Cook Tims was born Dec. 27, 1899. He married Ethel Greenhaw b. May 03, 1907 d. Apr. 16, 1972. Virgil died Oct. 18, 1971 They are the parents of the following known children: Gerald Tims, Helen Dale Tims, and Sylvia Tims. Lela Tims was born Jan. 20, 1902. She married Feb. 24, 1924 to Robert G. Holden b. Feb. 23, 1897 d. Sep. 24, 1974, they have one daughter, Mary Alice Holden. Lily Tims was born Jan. 20, 1902. She first married Lee Ivy. She married second Luther Hughes. She died Nov. 18, 1998 no children from either marriage. Gladys Josephine Paula Tims was born Feb. 20, 1906. She married first to Tipton Cox Feb. 20, 1919. She married second William York. She married third Jackson Mark. She married fourth Richard Steinhoff. Gladys died July 10, 1980 She had one child by William York, Billy York. Wiseman Monroe Tims Died Oct. 19, 1944. He is buried in Gracelawn Cemetery in Tuckerman, Ark. Lillie Kathyrn died Jun. 8, 1923. She is buried in the Parrott/Tims Cemetery in Tuckerman, Ark.

A.J. Tims was born June 19, 1891 to Wiseman Monroe Tims and Lillie Kathyrn Parrott. He married 1rst Miss Daisy D. Mitchell May 31, 1917 in Tuckerman, Ark. Daisy was born Jan. 8, 1896 to Benjamin F. Mitchell and Rebecca P. Clark. Andy & Daisy are the parents of the following known children; Talmadge Judson Tims born Sep. 10, 1918 Md. Miss Hazel Marie Smith Nov. 11, 1940. Died Apr. 11, 1996. Children: Andrew Judson Tims, Troy Edward Tims, Larry Joe Tims, Eddie Dewayne Tims, Talma Jean Tims, Gail Lynn Tims, and Tamma Marie Tims. Troy Lee Tims born Oct. 20. 1920. Md. 1947 Miss Maxine Swaffar . Died Aug. 27, 1980 Children: Brenda Tims, Dewey Tims, and Deniece Tims. Daisy D. Tims born Nov. 14, 1922. Md. Brion Ormsby Children: Linda, Brian, Jimmy. Daisy died Nov. 17, 1922 from complications with child birth. A.J. Tims remarried to Miss Hilda Milligan in 1923. Hilda remarried to George Crownover and they moved to California.
