john benjamin theall married 14 may 1820 franklin la. francis "fanny" misure(mixter) bn.1780.john was in the 1812 was.its said they only had one child andrew jackson theall bn 1820 in st mary parish louisiana.he was named after president andrew jackson a friend of john b. theall
andrew jackson theall married 1839 to marie eualie nunez bn abt 1820 st mary la.andrew jackson died aug 1853 lafayette la. andrew jackson and marie had seven children.one of his sons aurelien bn.feb 1851 in vermilion parish was the father to my great grandmother anna theall,she married joseph mouton,there daughter elea mouton,married joseph lionel mendoza my moms mother and father.
in the theall community had a store and post office in the store joseph theall was appointed the first postmaster of theall on march 6,1888.he remained at that post for thirty five years.following the civil war,joseph theall bought a house which was built at campell's ferry,it was moved by a float and slide to the theall settlement by a team of twelve yolked beeves,there it remained for an undetermined time,and was later purchased from mr. theall by ambroise lacour jr. around 1872 at a cost of $100.00.it was then moved from theall,acrosslittle bayou to the high land in mouton cove.it is speculated that the cypress used in the construction is several hundred years old.the lacour home,still in existance,was the birth place of fourteen chidren and many grandchildren.it is also the final resting place of marin mouton,pere with other members of his family.
marin mouton bought 4380 acres from indian chief called bernard. for tradition holds that the price paid for the tracts was a musket a horn of gun powder,a gallon of whiskey,and three dollars in currency.the afore said exchange had a valve of approximately fifty dollars.
