Priscilla Strole
Priscilla Strole, mother to Kyle Stracner, was murdered by Robert Hathaway on August 31st 1983.
Robert was a friend of Priscilla’s son Kyle and so was let into the house while Kyle was visiting other friends. When Kyle returned home he found his mother brutally murdered and the house ransacked. It wasn’t until 2014 that DNA evidence showed Robert as the murderer. A few days after police confronted Robert he hung himself.

Priscilla Lee Whitted's father was Frank James Whitted (1915 - 1970) and her mother was Lea Ruth Klettke (1913 - 2013). When Priscilla was 7, she was living with her parents in Richmond, California with her siblings Ronald and Arvilla. Dad Frank was a field representative for a fuel distributors association and Mom Lea was a box folder at a manufacturer.
Priscilla Whitted was married first to John Robert Nystrom (1941 - 2001) and they divorced in November of 1966. Priscilla then married John M. Strole on August 7, 1970, who was 8 years younger than she. They divorced in 1972.
Priscilla was mother to Kyle B Stracner, who lived with her. Kyle went out for the evening of August 31, 1983, and when he returned, he found his mother dead and unclothed. At the time, there were no clues at the scene that could lead to an arrest in the murder. There was no forced entry, and Priscilla had been beaten severely, dying from the trauma. Much later, it was found that she had been murdered on August 31, 1983 by Kyle's 'friend' Robert Hathaway. The horrendous murder remained cold for 30 years but in 2014, ten years after Kyle's own death, Robert was linked to the murder through fingerprints and DNA.
