Born to unknown parents in November of 1919, Gerie Shanks married Chester Alter Gorlitzer, better known as Chester A. Gore, the founder of an advertising and marketing agency in Manhattan, New York. Chester predeceased Gerie in 1997. They were both survived by their daughter, Eloise.
Gerie was the vice-president and general manager of the Chester Gore Company. She was also very active in Jewish causes. See National Council of Jewish Women, New York, Memorial and Gerie (Shanks) Gore: Obituary.
