Mary Kroczaloski could not speak English. Her sisters, Bertha and Frances could speak English but it was spoken with broken English.
A descendant of Mary Kroczaloski told me that Mary was closer to her son and grandson than her daughter and granddaughter. She seemed to favor the boys. She may not even have realized she was doing it.

John Sositko died in 1963 at 81 years old. His granddaughter, Terry remembers that her grandfather liked music from the singer Bobby Vinton. He liked the song 'Roses Are Red (My Love)' and he would sing along with the song. She also remembers her grandfather singing along with the song Blue Velvet (or Blue on Blue) but he may have heard Bobby Vinton singing the song on TV or radio before the album was released because her grandfather died by May 1963.
There is an audio tape from December 1962 (Christmas) of John Sositko talking (in English), singing Polish songs and Christmas songs in Polish on it.
Robert Sositko was in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Patricia and Mark "Gene" Henry's parents names were George Henry and Helen J. (Sositko) Henry Cook.

The family surname of Sositko was shortened to Sitko for a short time in the 1930's. It's on some of the marriage records. Helen was first married to George Henry. Jennie was first married to Samuel "Sam" Cayse.
This photo was most likely taken by Wilbur Ridenour (or one of John Sositko's grandchildren) and it was probably taken on the same day as the photo of John Sositko and his grandchildren from his children in this photo.
Helen and Fred Cook's daughter, Terry remembers her parents and her aunts and uncles voting for John F Kennedy for President in 1960 and she remembers them staying awake all night on election night to see if he won the presidency.
