Rees-Cook Vows Said In Lowell
LOWELL - The Rev. W. N. Cook officiated at 4 p.m. Sunday in the wedding of his granddaughter, Mary Louise Cook, to Rolland George Rees.
After the ceremony in the First Baptist Church the couple took a wedding trip north.
They will live in Canton, Ohio.
Mrs. Rees is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lee Cook. She received her B. A. degree from Wake Forest College where she was an honor graduate and her M. A. from Appalachian State Teachers' College. She taught in Granite Falls High School.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Rees of Cleveland, Ohio. He received his B. S. degree from Ohio State University and his M. A. from Appalachian. He taught in Ohio and is area franchise manager for Quaker Maid Ice Cream Co.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of lace and tulle over satin. Her fingertip illusion veil was attached to a pearl-trimmed lace cap. She carried a Bible with stephanotis and a white orchid.

Bill Rees was born William Eugene Rees and was an anchor for several stations and also worked for Channel 11 KPLR for 17 years. Before Bill joined KPLR, Rees began his media career at WBKV radio in Richmond, Indiana, and also worked for WAVI in Dayton, Ohio & WOWO-TV in Fort Wayne, WCFL in Chicago, Illinois and also became a Daytime News Anchor for ABC Radio back in 1972. Bill began his TV career at WTOL-TV in Toledo, Ohio as a News Anchor back in 1973, and Rees joined KPLR Channel 11 back in 1978, a news program called NewsWatch and won several emmy awards for his documentary work.
He was married to Alice Jones in 1962.
Rolland George Rees was the son of George Joseph Rees and Hattie M Clasen Rees. He was born on November 22, 1924 and had a sister Ardelle Johanna Reese Kerr Campos (1917-2006).
He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and was a graduate of The Ohio State University. On August 4, 1957 he married Mary Louise Cook (1928–) in Gaston, NC. Together they had daughters Beth and Heidi.
Mr. Rees taught in the Wickliffe City Schools and was Principal of Mapledale Elementary School from 1964 through to the school's closing in 1982.
Mr. Rees is a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Mentor for 23 years, and served on the Board of Trustees.

my grandmother is Kate Rees from Resolven Wales she came to Australia in 1929 with my grandfather John Thomas Lawrence and my mam....Charlotte, her husband and 2 boys. The Rees family in resolven lived in a house atop of hill and the house was called Panyighelli (don't know if the spelling is correct). and info. would be great

I am trying to trace the family tree of naomi rees ( dob 1856). I think she was married to william rees (dob 1846) they had a daughter called Margaret (dob 1878). They had a coach house (half way house)that was very successful in south wales.
Margaret Rees married Richard Morgan Walters (dob 1879) (miner)who then became a shop owner in Bargoed, South wales. They had six children. One of who was mymother Anne Walters.
Any information to help me put the pieces together would be appreciated

I am William Rees, born Washington, DC from Indian Head, MD. My Rees forebearers are from Pennsylvania (Wilksboro/Scranton area) where some also migrated to Virginia. I can trace the family back several hundred years and believe REES #1 was John Rees, Quaker minister, came to PA on the ship "Lyon". I would like to establish contact with others who share similar ancestry. REES / ROBERTS / CARPENTER / HENDERSON / DUDLEY in MARYLAND are immediate ancestry.
My father was Charles Clinton Rees (Apr 1913 - May 2003), born in Marbury, MD, eldest of two boys. His parents are William Alfred Rees and Dolly (Carpenter) Rees; all are buried at Pisgah Methodist Church, MD.
My mother is Alice Novella (Dudley) Rees (Oct 1916 - Aug 2006), born Smith Point, MD, eldest of eleven. Her parents are Roby H. Dudley and Alice N. (Henderson) Dudley buried at Nanjemoy Baptist Church, MD cemetary.
