My Grandmother,Florence May Welch,Was Born on April 30th 1897.She Was The Youngest Of Three Children Born To Benjamin and Estella (Blatchford) Welch. She Was Reared in A Christian Science Upbringing. Her Mother Was A Devout Member of The Religious Teachings Founded by Mary Baker Eddy.Florence Was A Loving and Vivacious Child,Always Cheerful and Befriending.When Florence Was 15 Years of Age She Met and Fell in Love With Robert W. Probert.Her Parents Were Not At All Contented With The Situation, Since Robert Was 5 Years Older Than Her! Despite Her Folks Protests of Her Relationship With Someone Older,She Married Robert in The Year 1913.They Took An Apartment in Revere,Massachusetts,When in 1914,The Couple Had Their First Child,Robert W.Probert,jr.Robert and Florence Were So Happy,Needless to Say.Three Years Later,Robert and Florence Had Their Second Child, This Time a Daughter,Marian E. Probert,Born on March 1st,1917 in Lynn,Massachusetts. Things Seemed to be Working Out Well For The Couple Until Mid Spring of 1918 When Marital Difficulties Started to Develop and The Couple Divorced in June,1918.Florence,Now 21 Years Old and Facing Single Mother Issues,Felt it Best To Have The Children Placed With Relatives Until She Could Manage Her Affairs.Robert and Marian Stayed With Relatives in Maine Awhile.Even Though Robert jr. and Marian Were To Be Seperated by Numerous Family Custodial Care,They Would Remain Close in Contact Even as The Years Passed.Robert and Florence Went on to Marry Again. Florence ,in Her Second Marriage,Had 7 Children, Two Sons and Five Daughters.Two of Which,Died in Infancy,Twins.Florence Died in Danvers,Massachusetts,on July 11,1972 At The Age of 75 Years.
