MRS. S. M. PRIMROSE.
The death took place on Tuesday of Mrs. S. M. Primrose,
mother of Ald. H. M. Primrose, M.L.A. for North Sydney.
She was in her 78th year and had lived at Cootamundra
and Coonabarabran before making her home at Roseville,
where she resided for many years. She is survived by three
daughters and four sons. The latter are Messrs. H. L. and
R. C. N. Primrose ( of the legal firm of Primrose and Primrose ),
Mr. H. B. Primrose ( of Selwey and Primrose, solicitors ), and
Mr. A. E. Primrose, of Gladesville. She had been a keen worker
for charitable organisations.
The funeral took place at Gore Hill cemetery. The Premier was
represented by Mr. Rose, and the Mayor of North Sydney ( Ald.
R. C. Forsyth ) also attended in addition to the relatives.

- USED FATHER'S SWORD.
The sword which had belonged to his father during the
Great War was used by Lieutenant Brian Primrose to
cut the wedding cake after his marriage with Miss Lucy
Harbutt, only daughter of Mr. P. Harbutt, and of the late
Mrs. Harbutt, of Rahiri, Orange, at St. Michael's Church,
Vaucluse, on Saturday afternoon.
The wedding was a military one, and appropriately, the
cake was decorated with military emblems and a model
gun. The bridegroom, who is the second son of the Acting
Minister for Health, Mr. H. L. Primrose, and Mrs. Primrose,
of Waverton, is a member of the Garrison Artillery.

DEATH OF ALDERMAN
H. L. PRIMROSE.
Alderman H. L. Primrose, formerly Minister in charge of
National Emergency Services, died at his home in North
Sydney, yesterday.
From 1932 until his defeat at the last elections, Alderman
Primrose was U.A.P. member for North Sydney in the
Legislative Assembly. He was an Assistant Minister in the
Stevens Government, and for a time was Acting Minister
for Health. He was an Alferman for the North Sydney Council
for 20 years, and was Mayor for six years. He was a member of
the firm of Primrose and Primrose solicitors.
Mr. Primrose is survived by Mrs. Primrose, two sons -
Squadron Leader Primrose, A.F.C. and Lieutenant
Brian Primrose, A.I.F., who is missing in Timor, and
two daughters, Mrs. J. Grieg Bisset, and Mrs. Alan Pike.
