He and his wife, Mary Gregg Pool received a Bible on their wedding day from either a relative, or close friend, David Kittinger. I now have this Bible and it has stayed in the Pool/Poole family ever since. The Bible will be 200 years old in 2012 (the printing date)and was purchased by David Kittinger for $15.00, which was a large sum of money back then. There is some family information in it, but not nearly enough. I have been researching Bannister Pool for many years, as has several other "distant" relatives, and none of us has come up with any new information on him. He has been my "brick wall" and I am hoping to break through eventually. His early life has been such a mystery to those of us researching him. It is almost as though he deliberately omitted any information about his early life. To find his parents and siblings has been my goal and continues to be my driving force. It is my hope that someday, someone may see one of my postings to the various message boards, and will have some information on him so that he will no longer remain a "mystery" to our family.
