He had 4 Granddaughters Laura, Leslie, Lisa and Michelle; 28 Great Grandchildren and 33 Great Great Grandchildren.

I am descended from the Polks who left Ireland for Dames Quarter, Maryland in 1680 or so. Charles Willson Peale's sister, Eleanor Digby Peale married Robert Polk and had a son, Charles Peale Polk. My mother's paternal grandfather was William Stewart Polk of Baltimore and the latest generation has three boys and a girl in it.
