Maureen O'Hara, born Maureen FitzSimons on August 17, 1920, in Ranelagh, Dublin, Ireland, was a legendary actress known for her beauty, talent, and fiery personality. Her parents were Charles Stewart Parnell FitzSimons (1885-1972) and Marguerite Lilburn FitzSimons (1898-1962). Her mother, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was an opera singer, and her father, Charles Stewart Parnell FitzSimons, owned a clothing business.
She had a childhood marked by a love for performing and a strong sense of Irish identity. She was the second oldest of six children in her family and was raised in a devoutly Catholic household.
O'Hara showed an early passion for performing arts, making her stage debut at the Dublin's Gate Theatre at the age of 10. Her talent quickly caught the attention of filmmakers, leading to opportunities in British and Hollywood films.
O'Hara's breakthrough came in the late 1930s when she signed a contract with RKO Pictures and began her Hollywood career. She gained widespread recognition for her performances in films such as "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (1939), "How Green Was My Valley" (1941), and "Miracle on 34th Street" (1947). Known for her collaboration with director John Ford, O'Hara starred in several of his iconic films, including "The Quiet Man" (1952), opposite John Wayne.
Throughout her career, O'Hara portrayed strong, independent women with a touch of Irish charm, earning her a reputation as one of Hollywood's most iconic actresses. She appeared in a variety of film genres, from adventure to romance, and received critical acclaim for her performances.

Dawson, Rita P. (O’Hara) of Sagamore Beach, formerly of West Roxbury. Beloved wife of Paul F. Dawson for 65 years. Devoted mother of Jim and his wife Elaine, of Plymouth, MA., Paul and his wife Maryellen of Pawleys Island, SC., Peter and his wife Maura of Paxton, MA. and John and his wife Lori of Chelmsford, MA. Loving grandmother of Pat, Steve, Paul, Brendan, Andrea, Paige, Taylor and Cameron. Caring sister of Peggy O’Hara of CO. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA 02563 on Wednesday June 21st from 4:00-8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, Sandwich, MA, Thursday June 22nd at 11:00AM. Committal service will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, Office of Mission Advancement, 637 Cambridge St., Brighton, MA. 02135.
Paul G.O'HARA, 80 Retired probation officer World War II Army veteran Sagamore Beach- Paul G. O'Hara, 80, of Sagamore Beach, formerly of Mission Hill, Died Tuesday at his home in Sagamore Beach.
He was born in Mission Hill, and lived there most of his life. He was a 1942 graduate of Boston College.
Mr O'Hara was a Army veteran of World War II. He was retired probation officer in Dorchester District Court.
He leaves a brother, John J. O'Hara Jr. of Osterville two sisters, Rita P.Dawson of Sagamore Beach and Margaret T. O'Hara of Littleton, Colo. and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral is at 10 a.m tomorrow at David J. O'Connor Funeral Home, 1558 Tremont St., Mission Hill, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m in Missin Hill Church. Burial will be in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
Visiting Hours are -to 7 p.m. today at the furneral home.

Born in Bridgeport, Conn., she moved to Boston at an early age and graduated from Girl’s High School. She lived in the Boston area for several years and was a longtime resident of Randolph, moving to Osterville in the early 1980s. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. O’Hara enjoyed sewing and ice skating up until just a few years ago. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, John J. O’Hara; two daughters, Maureen Linzi of Valatie, N.Y., and Paula Bundy of Plainfield; a son, Stephen M. O’Hara of Danbury, Conn.; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

In Rotorua hospital.From what I can understand i was 2 years old when my parents separated.My mothers name is Violet Unice Stokes-Parker.My mother remarried and i was adopted and bought up by my step-father Reginald Leonard Parker.I have never had the opportunity to met my bith dad. His mname is Maxwell Raymond O,Hara.My mother feels he might have gone back to Aussie.it would be nice to met the family I have never met.
