Riding Accident.
While Mr. C. Nye, of Barooga, was riding
a horse the animal reared when near
Anderson's hotel at Cobram, and owing to
the girth-strap breaking the rider was thrown
heavily to the ground, and sustained a fractured
shoulder and other injuries which have caused him
to go to Melbourne for treatment.
Prior to going to Barooga, Mr. Nye was a well
known resident in the Jerilderie District.
Sarah (McLean) Nye of Alexandria, Council of the City of Sydney County, NSW Australia was born in 1858, and had a sister Catherine (McLean) Howell. She was married to Charles Nye, and they were together until death separated them. She had children Horace Nye, Edward Mason Nye, Archibald Charles Nye, Arthur Leslie Nye, Catherine Frances (Nye) Baker, and Gordon Harold Nye. Sarah Nye died at age 70 years old on May 16, 1929 in Sydney, and was buried on May 16, 1929 in Rookwood Cemetery, Auburn City Council County.

A wedding was celebrated in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church,
Jerilderie, a few days ago, the contracting parties being Miss Alma,
second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Cowhan, of Jerilderie, and
Mr. Horace Nye, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Nye, of Cobram,
Vic., Rev. Father O'Dowd was the officiating clergyman.

heavily to the ground, and sustained a fractured

to go to Melbourne for treatment.

Mr. E. M. ( " Ted " ) Nye, son of Mr. C. Nye and a former
resident of Berrigan, who some years ago joined the police
force, was succesful in winning the 75 yards' handicap
from the scratch mark at the annual police and fire brigades'
demonstration in Sydney last week.
