Waltrip Myers Wedding Announcement
Rev, Marion Hull performed the the marriage ceremony uniting Ernest Waltrip of this city and Miss Edna M. Myers of Mt. Vernon on Saturday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock. The ceremony took place in the pastor's study in the Presbyterian Church. Miss Eva Wooldridge and Marion Upton were the attendants.
Mr. and Mrs. Waltrip have gone to housekeeping in apartments at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Davis, 2420 Champaign avenue, with whom he lived.
He is employed as a baker at the Daylite Bakery. Mrs. Waltrip is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Myers of Mt, Vernon, but has been employed in this city for some time.

The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's or early 1900's with Leida likely in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Leida and her family:
Leida LaVina or Louisa MYERS was b. 20 Apr 1880 in Dover, WI to parents Augustus “Gus” MYERS (1855-1933) and Anna “Annie” Julia or Julianna AMIDON (1863-1941). Leida was one of 8 children born to this couple including Leida LaVina or Louisa or Louise; Mary Julia; Nettie A.; Leigh Henry; Alexander R.; Charlotte “Lottie” Belle; Baby Girl; and Elma MYERS all born between 1880 and 1906.
Leida married William Henry KENT (1875-1956) on 2 Jul 1907 in Mondovi, WI, and they had 6 children including Chloe “Tillie” Wilma or Willma; Howard Lyman; Bessie Muriel; Hebard or Hibbard “Hib” William; Earl Leroy; and Alexander “Alex” Arthur KENT, all born between 1908 and 1920. The family lived in Gilmanton, WI until 1927 when they moved to Eau Claire, WI.
Leida died 25 Dec 1936 and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the MYERS Family identified in the photographs:
Naomi R. or E. MYERS was b. 20 Jun 1931 in Oxford, PA to parents Landis MYERS and Florence Naomi TURNER. The family moved to Marietta, PA in 1938. Naomi got a bachelor’s degree in education and taught her entire life. Naomi was married in 1952 according to some reports, though no name is mentioned, and she died 12 Feb 2006 in Lititz, PA and is buried in the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, PA.
Naomi’s obituary lists her surviving family including her sister Mary MILLER of Columbia, PA, and her brother James L. MYERS of Florida.
Her sister Mary Loretta MYERS was b. 31 Aug 1934 in Parkesburg or Lancaster, PA to the same parents. Mary was one of four children born to this couple including Naomi E. or R.; Shirley Ann; Mary Loretta; and James Landis MYERS all born between 1931 and 1941. Mary married Donald E. MILLER (1932-2002) and they had one son. Mary died 20 May 2010 in Mount Joy, PA.

Outrageous and subsequently neglected case in 2012
This boy pictured above DIED due to the negligence of a drunk driver. He was riding his scooter into his own driveway when the drunk neighbor ran his car off the road onto the sidewalk, ran him over, and then just kept going. Outrageously, the judge ruled that the neighbor did nothing wrong; makes you think he came from a broken family as well

John was one of four children born to this couple including John Carroll; Sarah E. “Bessie”; Orville H.; and Dersie A. MYERS, all born between 1872 and 1882. John married Stella Bertha HAZEN ROWE HUNTER (1879-1935) in 1920 and he died 12 Dec 1942 in Cleveland, OH and is buried in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. John was survived by a daughter Mrs. Helen SMITH of Waukegan, IL, and a brother O. H. MYERS of Indianapolis, IN.

She later moved to Salem, Arkansas around 1980 where Edna and her husband owned a bakery in Batesville, AR. She was at the bakery from early to late 6 days a week. Her husband Ernest did the baking and Edna did everything else.

My grandfather was Joseph Lewis (Louis) Myers, Born approx 1910-1912. The family was from the NYC area. I do not know anything other then his name and that he possibly had a brother John. My grandmother was Helen Benson Myers. They had 2 sons. Joseph H and Walter. My grandmother once told me that General Myers was a cousin of mine. I am looking for family history for myself and my sister and brother.

My family has two mahjong sets that were my grandmother's. She received them from her friend Ruth Whitaker who loved to travel with her family. My grandmother is Edith Marie Lyons Myers. One is in a small rectangle box and maybe a double decker. I have another one in a long rectangle box and the box is deteriorating so I put it into a storage box for preservation.
