Jonathan's parents were Donald Ray Milligan and Tammie Caulder Gibson. He had sibling Mike and step brothers Whitfield, Chris, Rolando, and Emmanuel, and step sister Alaina. He married Melissa Rasberry Milligan, and they had son Gabe and daughter Bella. Jonathan was memorialized as "He loved God, he loved people, and was as genuine as they come. In the 1940 federal census, Cordelia and Orla (who were married) were living in Union Indiana with children James, 12, Mary Jane, 9, Don, 8, George 6, and Carrol Jean, 1. Father Orla was a salesman. Cordelia resided at Twin Lakes Village Nursing Home in Monticello IN before she passed at the age of 103 years. She was widowed and listed as a "housewife" on death certificate.

My Grandmother was the most caring and loving woman. An amazing cook. One memory I have is she as well as her mother dipped snuff... Yuck!..lol

Xoe had four children, Nancy, John (Jack), David (Edward David), and Barbara. Barbara died in infancy at the age of nine months, probably sudden infant death syndrome. XOE was my Grandmother. She had eight grandchildren. Six boys and two girls, Joe, David, Ruth and Christine (children of Nancy), David, Gary and Bruce Milligan (children of of Edward (David), John Milligan, child of John Milligan Sr. The other grandchildren were not as involved with her as we (Nancy's children) were.. We called her "GIGI". She was not a fun grandmother (like I was), but a good women all in all. She had a hard life. When she was a teenager her mother died in childbirth and she had to quit school to care for her baby brother, Roger. Her Aunt Jenny swept in from (somewhere) and took charge of the situation. Xoe was able to finish school and came to Chicago when she was sixteen staying at what is now known as the "Eleanor Club" She married John Milligan in May of 1916 and had four children one of whom, Barbara, died in infancy. John died suddenly at the age of 48 in 1936. She was left (during the Depression) to raise three children one of whom was an adolescent girl, Nancy. Nancy and Gigi had a strained relationship. When our family fell apart in 1950 and we were sent to live at Maryville, she became our legal guardian (against her will) and was responsible for our care when we graduated eighth grade and went to live with her (poor thing, all those troubled teenagers). When she was having a heart attack. I said I would call for an ambulance but she insisted on taking cab. She was admitted and the doctor found out about her her family life and advised her to find a home for my brother and me. It worked for my brother but not me, so she had to take me back..grudgingly I must say. Gigi never forgot a birthday and baked our favorite cake and made a nice dinner for us. No matter how angry she was with us for all our foibles she always included us on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, She didn't think much of Mexican-Americans until my sister married one. She grew quite fond of him right away because of his respectful and helpful attitude towards her. He actually fixed things for her! She knew she could count on him to help her move, etc. They had a good relationship. David was troubled and got into problems with the law and she would always appear in court and try to save him from incarceration. Same with Joe. She did love us and I for one seem to instill her moral code with my own family. As I grow older, I would love to have a conversation with her and my mother, woman to woman to woman. Then maybe I could find the series of events that fractured our family and left us women so dysfunctional.
