My Grandmother, Sarah Lucenda "Lou" Victoria (McClendon) Stone, born 1887-88 in Alabama. Her parents were William McClendon and Mary "Polly" Lucenda Aaron of Alabama. William's parents were John McClendon and Liza Straw. It is said that Liza was a Native American Cherokee. This family was from around the Walker Co, and Cullman Co area in Alabama. If anyone has any connection to this family, I would welcome any information. Sarah Lou married Ed Stone abt. 1904 in AL.

My father was William H McClendon III, he was born in Alabama in 1938. His father, William H McClendon (Junior), was an absent parent but he was half Cherokee and he died in the '70s. I have no info about his father, William H McClendon (Senior), but the 1883 year of birth would be about right. What is the middle name of the William McClendon you are looking for?
