Elsie Reed LOWELL and Carlton LOWELL
I have in my possession an old studio portrait photograph of Elsie Reed LOWELL and her brother Carlton LOWELL. There is no studio or location referenced on the photograph though I believe it was taken in the 1890’s most likely with Carlton just an infant at the time and Elsie likely about 4 years old. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family:
Carlton W. LOWELL was b. 1895 to parents Lothair Labalister LOWELL (1853-1929) and Ida E. JACKSON (1858-1899) who were married 28 Oct 1880 in Wiscasset, ME. Carlton had two siblings, Otis LOWELL (1881-1889) and Elsie Reed LOWELL BARTLETT (1891-1996). Carlton married Zephie L. B. LOWELL (1891-1957) and he died in 1968 and is buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath, ME.
Elsie Reed LOWELL was b. 28 Mar 1891 in Wiscasset, ME to the same parents and married Harry Elhanan BARTLETT (1889-1955) on 20 Nov 1912 in Maine and they had three children including Lowell; Otis J.; and Warren Arthur BARTLETT, all born between 1915 and 1921. Elsie died 12 Oct 1996 and is buried in the New Berlin City Cemetery in Berlin, NH.
