Velma Gwendolyn Layman Larson
I have an old studio photograph identified as Velma Gwendolyn LAYMAN which was taken when she was just 7 months old. There is no studio or location identified on the photograph, however, based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Velma and her family:
Velma Gwendolyn “Gwyn” LAYMAN was b. 6 Sept 1909 in Hutchinson, KS to parents Rosco or Roscoe Conklin or Conkling LAYMAN (1873-1941) and Emmaline “Emma” or “Emley” Elizabeth FULLER (1878-1977). Gwyn had only one sibling, a sister Zora Mable or Mabel LAYMAN LUTHER DERAMIREZ (1900-1981). Gwyn married twice, first to Clyde H. ROGERS (b. 1904) on 31 Jul 193 in Scranton, PA and second to Gordon Pendleton LARSON (1910-1988) on 14 Nov 1933 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Gwyn had a son Gordon Pendleton LARSON Jr. (1935-2008) and a daughter Lori L. Zora Emily LARSON SIPPERLEY (1941-2010) with her second husband. Gwyn died 10 Dec 1959 in Malvern, PA and is buried in the Saint Peter’s Church in Great Valley Cemetery in Malvern, PA.

I have an old studio photograph of John LARSON from Buffalo, MN which was taken at the Johnson Studio in Boone, IA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880’s with John appearing to be in his 20’s or 30’s at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding John and his family:

Victor Larson
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Victor LARSON of Wisconsin which was taken at the Reynolds Studio in Decorah, IA on the occasion of his graduation. Victor appears to be in his 20's at the time the photograph was taken. In addition to his name, someone has written "Cardinal Gibbons" on the back the photograph. I suspected that Victor might have been a graduate of Luther College in Decorah, IA as another photograph recovered from the same source belonged to a member of the Luther College class of 1911. In researching the college yearbooks I do find Victor Ferdinand LARSON in the Class of 1911.
Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Victor and his family:
Reverend Victor Ferdinand LARSON was b. 26 Mar 1888 in Stoughton, WI to parents Torstein Davidhaug Tosten LARSON (1853-1946) and Susanna or Susannah O. BOLSTAD (1866-1945). Victor was one of 7 children born to this couple including, Victor Ferdinand; Lucille E. or Suceil; Seline or Saline “Sally” Olive; Arnold Odean or Odien; Thelma Eveline or Evelyn Maybelle; Bernice Adeline; and Nordahl or Nordal Sanford LARSON, all born between 1888 and 1905. Victor was married twice, first to Hattie Mabel MUELLER MILLER (b. 1886 in Illinois-d. 1921) about 1915 in Winnebago Co., IA and second to Regina SKORPEN (b. Apr 1885 in Iowa-d. 1979) on 20 Sept 1922 in Barnes Co., ND.
Victor had a total of four children with his first wife Hattie including Ruth Lucille LARSON (1915-2006); Marjorie Harriet LARSON (1919-2002); and Edward Norman LARSON (b. 4 May 1921 in Valley City, ND-d.1996). Victor died 25 Apr. 1988 in De Smet, SD.

La Verne knew more about clothing than anyone. If she had followed her dream she would have designed clothing for movies and actresses. She would have taken Hollywood by storm! Not only was she gorgeous on the outside she was on the inside too. Very people oriented, loved meeting new people and keeping close friends. LOVED to party and dance! Funny, intelligent (my personal walking dictionary) no matter what word I asked her to spell she knew right off the top of her head and the meaning. She loved animals from rats to cats and dogs and even a gopher she thought was a hamster. (That story is hilarious.) She was a cub scout den mother in high heels. She had 4 children 2 girls (1 deceased) and 2 boys, she has 1 grand daughter and 3 great grand children all of whom estranged themselves. So did her son's Karl Puls and then Jon Nemeth (taking after his father) abusing her in her later years horribly and they both estranged themselves after taking all they could get out of her leaving her broke and in debt when she passed. If you needed a place to stay La Verne invited you in. All my friends loved her and would call her mom within minutes after meeting her. She always looked younger than she was. Nice dresser and kept up with the styles and music. She introduced me to some artists I hadn't heard of. She would come home pulling up in the driveway music blasting in her 80's. Janis Joplin was her fav! I made her a CD with Joplin's greatest hits and in her 90's holding on to her walker standing there rocking out. I miss my momma so much! Riverside Community Hospital MURDERED HER intentionally for $. At least she's away from all the pain, disappointments, and disease and back with her family that loved her deeply on the other side.
