I do not plan to publish a book at this time, although a book on the KINTNER's has been published by someone else. I am only covering the two lines of the family that I am familiar with at this point, and then not in great detail. I hope to add more dates/places and names as time permits.
The family story is that the immigrant KINTNER, most likely Jacob KINTNER, came from Erbach, Wurttemburg, Germany, which is a small village near Ulm, Germany, in the Schwabische area, and settled in Bucks Co., PA and had a son Hugh, who later became the Sheriff of Bucks County.
There are other KINTNER men, Valentine, Conrad, Rudolph, Johann George, and Hans Michael KINTNER who are somehow related.
I only know a bit about George and Michael KINTNER, brothers who married sisters, Maria susannah LAMB/LAHM and Maria Catherine LAMB/LAHM. They were daughters of Conrad and Catherine LAMB/LAHM and had three known brothers, Peter, Jacob and John. Both families were found in the counties of Rockingham and Augusta, VA in the mid 1700s and by 1780-1790 were in Washington Co., PA area now known as Eighty-four, PA.
I do not have any documentation of the date or place of birth for any of these people at this point. I do believe Hans Michael KINTNER and his wife died in Washington Co., PA and are buried somewhere in the vicinity of Eighty-four, PA. Two of their sons, Peter Lamb KINTNER and Jacob Lamb KINTNER, went with George's son John KINTNER and settled in what is now Corydon, Harrison Co., IN and there Peter and Jacob built homes circa 1825-1835 which are still standing: Peter built Cedar Glade in the town of Corydon and Jacob built Cedar Grove on the banks of the Ohio River, not far from Laconia, IN. One of the KINTNER'S, most likely Peter, had a farm and donated land tot he city that was adjacent to the KINTNER family cemetery and farm.
Johann George KINTNER is of my direct line and he went to what was Tuscawaras Co., Oh and settled his family there in what is now Carrollton, Oh. He died ca 1809 in Washington Co., PA after moving his family to Carrollton, Carroll Co., Ohio. There, they built a log cabin, which was still standing in 1961 but has since been destroyed by owners of the original handmade brick house that is now a restaurant. George's widow, Susannah eventually lived with a daughter or son and family in the Pittsburgh, PA area and is most likely buried there.
George and Susannah LAMB KINTNER had 17 children, 15 thought to have lived to adulthood and prospered. One son, Christian KINTNER married Elizabeth MOORE, daughter of Andrew MOORE, Sr. She had one known sibling, Andrew MOORE, Jr.
George and Susannah also had a son George, Jr., and he in turn had a son George, III. George III had a daughter Louisa KINTNER.
Christian and Elizabeth had a number of children, one being Jacob KINTNER and he in turn married a cousin Louisa KINTNER, daughter of George KINTNER, III. Christian and Elizabeth are both buried in the old cemetery in Carrollton, OH, as are a number of allied families.
Jacob and Louisa, both born in Carrollton, and buried there. Their son, Benjamin Addison KINTNER married Lavina/Lavinia Elizabeth HAWK. Both are buried in old cemetery in Carrollton, OH.
They had three children, two daughters, Elma Etta and "E"? and one son Willard Wycoff KINTNER.
The daughters married Mr. HARSH and Mr. BROOKS, Willard went to Iowa and married Margaret Katherine RYDER. Willard and Margaret had three sons, the oldest of which, was my father.
