My husband is a Kersey, whos family came from the Village of Kersey in England
His birth was actually in Ipswich, his fathers name is John Percival Kersey, however we have no further names or information of ancesters names other than John has / had a brother Peter and a sister we think
Their branch of the Kerseys story is that the original Kersey was a cloth maker and came across the channel from Flanders to set up making cloth, which became known as Kersey Cloth, (a type of tweed cloth?) thus the village name Kersey

John Kersey came out to Australia in 1949, my husband being only 4 years old
We live in Perth, Western Australia and the W.A. telephone book has only 4 listed Kerseys and they are all related directly

Infortunately, that is all we know of the family history but would like to find out more
