Conrad Hohing Jr was born to parents Florence Katherine McAlpine (1899-1972) and Conrad Hohin Sr. (1899-1970) in Lonaconing, Allegany, Maryland, USA on March 5, 1922. He had one brother, John McAlpine Hohing. Conrad grew up in Lonaconing and lived with his maternal grandparents and parents.
On Febrary 23, 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army and served until December 24, 1945. After he was discharged, Conrad lived in Allegany, Maryland, USA.
He married Virginia Rebecca Gibson (1923-1999) on July 6, 1944 in Ward, Texas, see Lt. Conrad Hohing, Jr Weds Miss Virginia Gibson in Texas. They had three children together. In the 1950's they moved to Morristown, Middlesex, New Jersey, USA where he worked as a research chemist.
