Any of you hobbs's out there relates to randolf Leon Hobbs died 1978 in nc
Darla Hobbs-Delarosa The story goes that when John H. Hobbs was approximately 15 years of age he stabbed his best friend in the back and killed him. John was sent to a juvenile correctional facitity until the age of 18. No one recalls exactly why John stabbed his best friend, but through the course of my genealogy work, I do have a clue. On April 4, 1929 a child was born to John H. Hobbs & a Gerdie Willingham. I am just guessing, but believe that Miss Willingham might have been a relative of John's best friend who's last name is reported to be Brightman or Brighten.

Joe Lee Hobbs was born in Young Co., Texas in 1935 he was in an out of prison most of his short life. In the early to middle 1970's, Joe Lee's last time out of prison, Joe Lee went on a bank robbing spree and was dubbed the Silk Stocking Bandit, due to the fact that he always wore a silk stocking over his head during the robberies. Joe Lee's crime spree ended in a stand-off at his home. Joe Lee decided to take his own life rather than go back to prison and shot himself in the head.
