My great grandfather, Nelson Howard, is 2nd from left. This is the Board of Santa Anita Racetrack. He passed away before I was able to ask him who these people were, so I got the names from Mr. Strub, son of the Strub pictured. They are from left:
Victor Ford Collins, 1st sect. of the corp. and general counsel to the Turf Club, Nelson A. Howard, Dr. Charles/Doc Strub, Hal Roach, Leigh Battson, Arthur Hastings and Dwight Whiting. These men were largely responsible for getting the race track built at Santa Anita in about 1934.

Hi listers, I am related to William Hastings and Ann Hastings nee Tobin parents of James, Eliza(beth), William jnr and John Hastings. William Hastings was executed for the murder of his wife Ann in 1877. William Hastings was the son of Mary Jane Griffiths, formerly Hastings nee Christie. Mary Jane was the eldest daughter of Jane Christie nee Whittle, and James Grant Christie, and sister of Eliza(beth) Christie. I have been able to locate the whereabouts of William jnr and Eliza(beth) who were living in Warburton Victoria , after William jnr died it appears Eliza(beth) moved from Warburton to Lilydale area. I have not been able to locate John unless he is a John Hastings who died aged about 27 in an accident. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Jan
