This photo of the Old Woods School was taken around 1909/1910 in Pipers Gap, Carroll County, VA (near Galax, VA). It was a one-room school house, and this picture was taken at the rear of the building. My grandmother (Nora Carpenter) and a couple of her siblings are in this photo.
