Bernard Hankin Feb 12, 1922 - Apr 15, 1994 Exton, Pennsylvania
Bernard Hankin was born to Samuel Hankin (1882 - 1951) and Pauline "Pearl" Cooper (1886 - 1973). His father was born in Russia, as was his mother. He had siblings Jennie Jean, Anne Rosalyn, and Allen Hankin. He was a World War II veteran and was a captain in the Army Corps of Engineers. Bernard Hankin married Henrietta Potter (1922 - 2019) in 1951 in Kanawha, West Virginia, and they had three sons, Samuel, Robert, and Richard Hankin. Bernard graduated from Pennsylvania State University, receiving a degree in engineering. Although he loved golf, the majority of his free time away from Hankin Group, a construction firm which he began in 1958, was spent in charity work - especially for Penn State. He was on the board of trustees at Penn as well as endowing the Hankin Chair in Residential Construction.
