Lydia Gustine

I’ve “rescued” an old photograph identified as that of Lydia GUSTINE of Lewistown, IL. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1860’s or 1870’s with Lydia likely in her 20’s or 30’s at the time it was taken. In addition to her name, someone has also written “A Friend of the Brown’s” on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to find a possible match in census records as follows:

1920 census of Lewistown, IL:

Frank GUSTINE, age 55, born IL, parents born IL, a House Carpenter
Alice GUSTINE, wife, age 52, born IL, parents born IL
Thomas GUSTINE, son, age 16, born IL, a House Carpenter
Lydia GUSTINE, mother, age 73, a widow, born IL, parents born IL
