This is a photograph of Orin Franklin Garrison (1852-1886), husband of Sarah E. Parsel, and youngest son of Card Garrison (1804-1894) of Richland County, Ohio. Orin was farming in Lenawee County, Michigan when he died suddenly at his home on April 4, 1886. He left behind 4 children: Sons Willis (9), Llewellyn (7), Gloyd (6), and daughter Carrie (2). His body was transported to his hometown of Plymouth, Ohio and he was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery.

1 cup molasses
1/2 cup sugar
pinch salt
1 tablespoon vinegar
baking soda
Combine ingredients & boil until it strings. Remove from heat. Add a pinch of baking soda.
Pour into greased pan. When cool enough to handle(grease hands), pull taffy until it turns blonde. Cut when hard.
**can't make this in humid weather, it will puddle...
