"Witchie May" was terrifying, at least when I was small. I'm not sure why, but I think it was her un-naturally dark hair against such pale, wrinkly skin. My grandmother and I would go visit her and "Uncle Tip" (Clifford M Flesher) when I would make the trip to Fort Worth. I loved the fact they lived on Drury Lane and would sing "Do You Know The Muffin Man" every time we went to her house. She was a bird lover, letting her parakeets fly all over the house. She was always afraid I would mess with the birds, so she would put the birds in their cages when I would arrive. They would send me to her bedroom to "be out of the way" while the bird replacement commenced. After Tip died, Grandma took care of her, as she was my grandmother's aunt. For the last 5 years of her life, she was in a nursing home, and she had amputations of her legs.
