Is more information about Faix, but here I copied my dialogs, but to see more information see that link for more information about Faix. Faix occurs in these genealogy more on interneted joined with those surnames. Some family is in Salzburg owning Salt mines and some family in Germany, but all mail by post returned so I did not get to any genealogy.
Larry Myers:
I have a Faix family who I believe is related to General Lafayette and his daughter Marie Antoinette Lafayette. Some Historians say the Lafayette family was related to the French Queen Marie Antoinette from Austria. They are buried with Alexander Hamilton's Fawcett and Pollock family along with Robert Fulton and Albert Gallatin's family at the Versailles cemetery in Pittsburgh. I am sure this is not a coincidence.
Eva Bartosova:
Some Faix descendants who comes from my family are in Salzburg, maybe they can help me in genealogy if heard some rumours.
On this link are derivations of de Foix surname and I thought it is Lafayette! The same surname as Foix and Faix I thought when I came through it, I rthought it is Fay and Faix the same one.
Thank you very much for information. I am related to Maria Antoineta through some genealogies and also I am descendant of N. Bonaparte from paternal side this two, but maternal side is Faix. Faix as de Foix is surely realated to Maria Antoineta, see more on web as de Foix are ancestors of French kings and whole roalty of Europe are related with them with many descendants. From paternal side I am descendant of Prince Rupert, Friedrich V. Winter king of Bohemia and dau of James I. and their ancestors were several times related to Maria Antoineta. I see in history is not enough of genealogy and then they write that some rulers are aliens and they are not, for example here are descendants of Premysls and they show them to people as alien, but they are not alien. Historicians are with lack of informations sometimes and writes their own opinions which are not true into histories. They also do not understands hearts of good emperors.
Larry Myers:
Well all these families are here in Pittsburgh PA at the Versailles Cemetery. I am sure they were involved in the Lewis and Clark Expedition when Napoleon sold the Louisiana Territory to the US. This includes Alexander Hamilton, Robert Fulton and Albert Gallatin's family. This of course includes the Faix family of General Lafayette.
Larry Myers:
I understand during the French Revolution, many of the Royal Families living at Versailles France were relocated to Pittsburgh by Albert Gallatin. They seem all to be all buried at the Versailles Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburg became famous as there are foreign Slovaks and such University, but I am not Slovak, but just French in Slovakia, but mix, but many european nationalities are my ancestors and directly some were not Slovaks, but Germans said Faixes about themselves as grandfather was German or Austrian and from paternal side Czechs mixted with French. But some from other origings, so I am mix. But I think they did not tell me all things as hid also info I know they know so believe to them nothing.
Larry Myers:
The Faix family buried with Alexander Hamilton's family in Pittsburgh I believe are French from Slovakia. Albert Gallatin was the Minister to France as well as Thomas Jefferson. Robert Fulton was Napoleon's friend.
Larry Myers:
It's all one big family. That is Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Aaron Burr, Meriwether Lewis, Gouverneur Morris, Tocqueville, General Lafayette, George Washington.
Most Historians are brain dead so I know what your going through.Well. Historician. I see it so, that internet will bring good things to science as I see that in libraries which are very great is problem to get some books and also through books is not possible go through so good as through internet and also then there are not books from other countries and so is impossible find anything about genealogy and family history of other country and so people who are not scientists and are not loving work they does are on little level of education and makes not only mistakes, but also desinform the others, but they do not come to it that they are desinformed. This is usual. Desinformation and hidding of informations are surely on all who does not study their job from love, those who are made someone other than they are or so on. I believe internet will bring that genealogy and history will come to some expertism and profesionality and higher level, which would be impossible.
We are most likey cousins because I am related to the Faix family.
Larry Myers:
If you look at the History part of this, remember the reason for the Lewis and Clark expedition out of Pittsburgh. Remember the families involved from Napolian who sold the land to the US to Albert Gallatin who came up with the money. Then remember Thomas Jefferson who was President at the time who ordered the Expedition headed by Meriwether Lewis.
Larry Myers:
They just placed a sign at Ft Lafayette in Pittsburgh. It is the place most Historians now feel Meriwether Lewis left Pittsburgh in his brand new boat.
Well all these families are here in Pittsburgh PA and were involved in the Lewis and Clark Expedition when Napoleon sold the Louisiana Territory to the US. This includes Alexander Hamilton, Robert Fulton and Albert Gallatin's family. This of course includes the Faix family of General Lafayette.
Eva Bartosova:
Thank you very much for good informations. I just discovered also second matter, family Jour is probably Joux and I found that pseudonym I chose exist similar woman in history, also this Jour was later Chour in Czech.
I look for genealogy of family Faix from Bratislava, from Austria, 11 children, their father died in Italy during World War I., their mother was Katarina Kistner...etc...children Elza, Anton, Josef, Feri, Wiliam...and so on, some moved to Austria, Germany and to other parts of the world cca 1945
Faix should be descendant of royal house of de Foix. Any other information are very welcome [contact link]
Martin Faix:
Dear Mr. Bartosova,
I am Martin Faix from Gerlachov, it is a small village in the north-east Slovakia. There are many Faix living in the village, some in the region of the High Tatras as well. I don´t have any information about the Faixs from Bratislava, but I am very much interested into the genealogy of our surname. If you should have any further information in this regard please let me know. I would also like to ask from what source you have got the information that Faix should be descendant of the royal house of Foix, as the Foix didnt have (as far as i know) any connection to Hungary, Austria or Slovakia especially. Thanks, Martin
And let it is not so simple, but so complicated as with Chour-Jour-Hour-Hove-Howe-Lotin de Hour here is other part of genealogy of some branch:
Co se týče původu jména, já jsem se někde dočetl, že to je zkomolenina latinského slova Veits, což znamená něco jako Vítův a tak podobně, ale těžko soudit. Že to jméno je zkomolené je jasné a že cesta vede do Francie, to zřejmě také bude pravda. Ale že bychom byli nějak příbuzní s francouzskými šlechtici :), to tedy nevím.
Definition: un faix - burden
Mon fils n'est jamais un faix ! - My son is never a burden!
Elle vieillit sous le faix de ses soucis - She is aging due to the burden of worrying.
I also found La Faix for example on internet.
