He had ten siblings: Virgina Embrey Tolson (1915-2006), Vernon A Embrey (1917-1999), Eppa Hunton Embrey (1918-1983), Elwood Morris Embrey (1920-2010), Ruth Ola (Embrey) Speck (1921-1999), Francis M Embrey (1923-2009), George Washington Embrey (1928-1998), Gordon Embrey (1931-2009), Albert Marion Embrey (1931-2011), and Lambert Ford Embrey (1935-2000). Bill was married to Lois Almeda Dodd Embrey (1929–1972) until her passing. He passed away on February 6, 2003, at the age of 75, and was laid to rest in the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ruby, Stafford County, Virginia, USA.
