Moses Currier Eaton
I have an old studio photograph identified as M. C. EATON of Wentworth, NH which was taken at the Sanborn Studio in Lowell, MA in the 1860's or 1870's. The man in the photograph appears to be in 30's at the time the photograph was taken. I believe that this is a photograph of Moses Currier EATON. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Moses and his family:
Dr. Moses Currier EATON was b. 1839 in Warren or Wentworth, NH to parents Jesse EATON (1796-1874) and Eleanor or Elenor or Elinor or Elanor PAGE (1800-1885). Moses was one of 7 children born to this couple including Abigail Harriman; Susan M.; John P.; Hannah P.; Louisa J.; Martha Julia Carr; and Moses Currier EATON, all born between 1824 and 1839. In June 1963 when he completed draft documents he was living in Hanover, NH and was a student at Dartmouth College Medical School, graduating in 1864.
He was a practicing physician from 1865-1869 in Warren, NH and then in Plymouth, NH from 1869 to his death in 1872. Moses married Ellen “Nellie” Louisa WARD (1838-1921) on 15 Feb 1865 in Plymouth or Wentworth, NH and they had a son, Arthur Ward EATON (1867-1932). Moses died 29 Mar 1872 in Plymouth, NH and is buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Plymouth, NH.

I've recovered an old photograph of Annie Belle EATON which was taken at the Vese & Paul Studio in Skowhegan, ME. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's with Annie likely about 3 years old at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Annie and her family:
Annie Belle EATON was b. 7 Mar 1873 in Skowhegan, ME to parents Horace EATON (1825-1898) and Mary Ellen “Ella” Martha DUREAU or DUREN (1838-1908) who were married 12 Apr 1863 in Canaan, ME. Annie married James McNally GOODRIDGE (1872-1955) on 1 Mar 1894 in Skowhegan, ME and they had 13 children including Minnie Eaton; Ethel Smith; Eva Mabel; Horace Eaton; Nodie E.; Martha Elizabeth; Howard Clark; Wilton; Milton Philbrick; Calla E.; Annie Bell or Belle; and two others, all born between 1896 and 1919.
Annie died in 1957 in Blue Hill Falls or Skowhegan, ME and is buried in the Pooler Cemetery in Skowhegan, ME.
I am hoping to locate someone from Annie’s family so that this photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.

Three men were fined at Port Adelaide Police Court today for betting offences. Archibald Edward Eaton, of Dunn street, Semaphore, was fined £30 for illegal bookmaking.

ARRIVAL OF THE GULF OF VENICE WITH IMMIGRANTS.
Left London December 3, then Plymouth December 7, 1884.
The steamer, Gulf of Venice, arrived yesterday morning from
Plymouth with 549 Government immigrants, with Captain
David Swan in command of the vessel.
The steamer anchored in Watson's Bay, with one death being
recorded, Mary Hunt, 18 - typhoid fever.
The Gulf of Venice has the distinction of having made the
longest passage of any steamer that has yet brought
immigrants to this port, having occupied altogether
58 days from Plymouth.

The Gulf of Venice, now in this port, belongs to
the Greenock Steam Shipping Company; she is
a sister ship to the Gulf of St. Vincent. The Venice
was built in Hartlepool, and completed in 1883.

600 immigrants at Sydney.

stating that Mr. Thomas Eaton had died suddenly
at his residence, 13 Carrington-street, Adelaide.

are sons of deceased, will leave by tonight's express
to attend the funeral.
