Ruth Kathleen (Heitzman) Donlan of 650 E Strawbridge Ave, in Melbourne, Florida United States was born on July 5, and died in 2010.
John "Jack" grew up and the Vailsburg section of Newark, New Jersey. He had many brothers and sisters -- among them Francis who died at 8 years old, and twins who died in their infancy.
He married Ruth Kathleen Heitzman, and shortly thereafter he volunteered to go into the US army in 1941. He was only supposed to be in the army for 2 years..... But then Pearl harbor was attacked and Jack did not get out of the army until 1946.
In 1948 Jack and Ruth moved to Pierson Street in Bloomfield New Jersey, buying a railroad style home for $8,500.
At first they were not able to have children so they adopted John from St Elizabeth's hospital in Trenton New Jersey. A year and a half later John's brother, Ken, was born naturally to them.
When Jack got out of the army he started working for federal telephone, then Hoffman beverages, and eventually for Pabst brewing Company in Newark.
In 1972 Jack and Ruth retired to Cape May New Jersey, where they lived for 7 years before moving to Port St Lucie Florida. In less than 5 years they moved to an apartment in Trinity towers, Melbourne Florida.
