DeMatas ancestry began in Early Greece with Vintage Greek Sailing Merchants that slowly expanded to The Azores. From The Azores various DeMatas Factions splintered; some went to early England; some to early France; some to early Spain; some to Trinidad Tobago. Of those early settlers in England, many went on to Canada & Australia while others went to precolonial America. Of those that went to Spain, many went to Mexico & pre-New Mexico and then-Spanish California. Of those that went to France, many went to the preAmerican area purchased as part of the Louisiana Purchase. Of those that were proximate to The Azores, many went to Trinidad Tobago; and, some went on to areas surrounding Greater Miami Florida where some continued North and settled in different areas of Florida, Georgia, The Carolinas, and, New York including NYC.

Name Origin

vintage variations include: cloth maker, weaver, tree-“strands” weaver; and, variations of “weaving”, by different methods: cloth, “strands” of tree-vines, remnants of long, pliable, mailable, tree-roots, or plant-roots, or bushy-roots… any root derivatives that were realistically long-enough, mailable enough, soft(but string-enough) to be woven…. So, mostly from very long soft strong pliable tree roots from older deep-rooted trees.
