Homer City Church Scene of Decker-Wilson Marriage
The marriage of Charlotte Ileane Wilson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Wilson, 82 Harrison Street, Homer City to Maynard Decker, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Decker, Penn Run, in Homer
Trinity Church, Homer City, has been announced today.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. C. Thornton Hays of Oklahoma Borough at 7:30 o'clock before a fern banked altar decorated with candelabra, baskets of white gladiolus and snap dragons. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was dressed in a marquisette gown fashioned with long full sleeves, a full skirt, tight bodice, and sweetheart neckline. Her matching fingertip veil was held to her head by a halo of seed pearls and she carried a colonial bouquet of white roses from which cascaded white satin streamers knotted with fern.
Miss LeOro Held of Gettysburg who attended the bride as maid-of-honor was beautifully
gowned in yellow marquisette with matching hat. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and delphinium with blue satin streamers. Doyle Decker, brother of the bridegroom, as best man and ushers for the occasion were Russel Wilson, brother of the bride, and Paul Allison of Indiana.
The mother of the bride wore black with matching accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The mother of the bridegroom was dressed in black and white with white accessories and sage of pink rosebuds.
Preceding the ceremony organ music was played by Mrs. Ida Wilson and Mrs. Thomas Robertson sang "I Love Thee Dear" and "Because." After the ceremony, a reception was served in the social room of the church for two hundred people.
Those serving at the reception were Mrs. Samuel Sickenberger, Mrs. Clarence Baker, Mrs. William Householder, Mrs. John Miss Ruth Fitzhonts, Fuimer， Miss Helen Beahr and Mrs. August Kostka.
Mr. and Mrs. Decker spent their honeymoon in, Niagara Falls and Canada and are now residing at 36 N. Carpenter Avenue, Indiana.

I have an old studio photograph of Claud F. DECKER which was taken at the Sullivan Bros. Studio in Hudson, NY. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900’s with Claud just an infant at the time. The photograph was gifted to Fannie WILCOX. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Claud and his family:
Claud or Claude Frederick DECKER was b. 25 Apr 1908 in New York to parents Frederick W. DECKER (1867-1929) and Laura MURCH (1870-1959) who were married in 1887. Claud had one sibling, a brother Harold “Harry” William DECKER (1888-1963). Claud married Ruth D. JACKSON (b. 1913). Claude died 21 Dec 1981 in Clearwater, FL.
I am hoping to locate someone from Claud’s family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.
