Bowie Home before and after bought
This photo shows the Bowie family home in Honey Grove, TX (located just to the north of the football stadium). Eiland Bowie bought the home for his Mom, Mattie Hulse Bowie with his savings from his military salary earned during WWII. Obvious are the details of the work the family did to restore the old home. The child in the first photo is Linda Clara Creagor also spelled Criger on her rocking horse. It was taken in 1945. Mattie Bowie lived in the home and raised her younger children and two grandchildren there. The house was torn down after her death and a new Bowie home (Joe Bowie) now stands on the spot,
