War Record of the Town of Islip, New York, WW I: The In Memorium picture page, featuring my great-great uncle Charles Edward "Ted" Boyeson who died one month after enlisting. The book says "of pneumonia", but family story is that he died of the influenza that swept through the training camp in New York. He was well-loved, and several generations have been named for him, including my baby brother, Charles "Tad" Parker.

Maude Wallace Bohn wedding portrait
Maude Wallace (1891-1937),Wife of Sgt. Charles E. Bohn (see earlier post)and her brother (name unknown) who was the ring bearer in the wedding party.
The Wallace family was obviously a prominent one in Detroit Michigan judging by the clippings I found from the society pages of the 'Detroit Free Press'.

This Red Cross packet was sent to Maude Wallace Bohn of Detroit Michigan the wife of Sgt. Charles E. Bohn in 1917, a bride of only seven weeks when Charles and his two brothers enlisted,She never saw him again. Charles and his brothers were killed within a month of each other in France.
They are buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery.

These are the Bohn sisters of Hamilton, Ohio with whom we believe to be one of their grandmother's and a friend or family member we can't identify. From left to right is mystery woman, Marie Gregg Bohn, in back Catherine Frakes Bohn and Elisabeth Elam Bohn. The woman on Marie's lap was very frail and we know one grandmother died in the 1930's.
The woman on the left is very attentive to the woman on Marie Bohn's lap and we feel she must be family but who is she? No one knows. Also can anyone identify the woman on Marie's lap? If she is their grandmother? Is she a Bohn or a Layer? This was a very old photo that was damaged and was remade.
