Charles Magnanate in a photo of the group, Mentholatum Mountaineers. This musical group was composed of several well-known musicians and songwriters of the time. Layman Cameron (second from left, back row) and Eddie Smith (on Layman's left) wrote the hit song 'Blue Texas Moonlight' in 1944. Layman later became emsee on the NY radio show 'Hill Country Jamboree' on station WOV. Charles Magnante (back row, far right)was a New York piano and accordion arranger and composer. He started his career at a very young age, later playing in Italian restaurants and on the Staten Island Ferry. He also was featured on NBC radio broadcasts and was one of the founding members of the 'American Accordionists' Association' in 1930. Charles wrote several famous accordion songs, along with method books that are still used today.

This is Margaret Emily Landsdowne Blue, born 1845, died 1933, and her children. I don't remember the names of the daughters right off, but the son is William Elmer Blue, born 1865, died 1932. He was the foreman of a paint gang for the railroad.
