She graduated from nurse’s training at Ethel Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1939 with a R.N. degree. Mary married Roger Joel Andrus on December 6, 1939 in Phoenix, Arizona, they moved to Arkansas in 1982. Roger and Mary lived in Siloam Springs from 1996-2006 and attended Covenant Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four half siblings.
Survivors include her children three sons and two daughters, thirteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
I lived with my grandmother when my mom (sarah broussard-Bergeaux) and my dad (Milton Joseph foreman -Bergeaux ) Divorced . I wasn't sure where I wanted to be so I stayed with my grandma Viola . My grandmother raised my brother . He wanted to stay with my grandma . She use to love to go to garage sales and sometimes she would even buy us clothes and toys.
MY grandma Loved all her children . Even tho at times my grandma could be somewhat of a bold.
There are many stories to tell about my grandma but , there is never enough room and words to describe who she was and how she was through out her lifetime.
My grandma passing was sad . I was there and so were other members of the family . There was no fighting or arguing just happiness . Her last words to us was " The family is back together accept for one and this makes me happy" I remember it like it was yesterday .
I never talk about it . There has been lots of speculations on how my grandma died but , I was there in the house when she passed .
I hope my grandma is resting in peace . Love you grandmother ..
