what lovely tributes to him though.
Very sad. And so close to the end of the war. He was a great man, very smart. Such a sad loss. I have been gathering all information on him, writing and remembering him.

Then photo is so clear. Doesn't seem possible that it was taken in 1894. The boy in the photo is long dead and yet this photo seems so modern.

Was he a member of the Eastman/Kodak family? Considering it was 1894, this child is very well dressed.

My gosh, his poor mother! She apparently had a stillborn daughter, then lost her son in 1918, and then in 1925 she lost both her husband and her daughter-in-law. She finally died in 1929, no doubt a heartbroken woman. A whole family gone in just 2 generations.

Meghann Burger Wilson Clark's next outfit?? :-)
Little Lord Fauntleroy suits were very common then although traditionally they were cut from velvet-and young master Eastman merely has the collar and cuffs. Mothers loved dressing their sons up like the character from the book and at least Warren isn't sporting the long curls that popularly accompanied this style. Some boys inevitably got hassled (as did the character in the book) for being "sissies" but this didn't dissuade enthusiastic parents who wanted their boys to emulate that angelically good mama's boy.

We forget often how things used to be. Want light flip a switch. Heat turn it on. To have a happy healthy family was not so easy. What the mother must have gone through. What loss. At least the memory lives on.
