Tainui passengers, 1910 New Zealand
This is a photo of some of the passengers who arrived in Wellington New Zealand 1910 on the ship Tainui. The Captain was Capt MOFFATT. The lady in the boater behind the reel on the left is Jessie GORDON. She traveled with her sister, Isabella GORDON- she is near the middle of the pic in the back second row, with the V shaped front and a braid around her neck, next to a man with a moustache

Wonderful snapshot of some of the passengers who arrived in Wellington, New Zealand in 1910 on the Tainui passenger steam ship which was built in 1908.

what a wonderful adventure for them..starting new lives !! my great grandparents & 4 children came to america in 1885...trying to learn wat ship they came on and at what port they landed ! they went to saulk center minn. i believe they a sponser there...exciting !!!

If you can't find them on the Ellis Island website, try finding them on the Castle Garden site. 😊

99% of my peeps were here long before Ellis Island existed. If my research is correct the only ones who came thru NY city were the ones from Germany in 1710 and a couple of Dutch who came to New Amsterdam, New Netherlands.

Mine came from Amsterdam around 1660. Settled Germantown, PA. Owned a paper mill.
My husband Charles Robert Couzens age 4 months old landed in NZ in 1928 with parents and older brother Francis Jr Couzens.

Overhills, Tenase, Great Tellico. He died on 15 May 1846 in Washington,
District Of Columbia.
John Looney married Betsy Webber daughter of (Adopted) Capt. Will Webber
and Anitsiskwa Sarah Cherokee in 1797 in Overhills, Settico. Betsy was
born in 1780 in Overhills, Settico. She died after 1840 in Indian Nation.
John and Betsy had the following children:
Rachel Looney was born in 1798 in Tennessee. She died in 1867 in Indian
Nation, Oklahoma.
Rachel married John Knave. John was born in 1814 in Indian Nation. He
died in 1847 in Indian Nation.
Eliza Abigal Looney was born in 1800 in Tennessee. She died in 1867 in
Indian Nation, Oklahoma.
Eliza married Daniel Rattlinggourd. Daniel was born in 1818 in Indian
Nation. He died in 1864 in Indian Nation, Oklahoma.
Betsy Looney was born estimated 1801 in Tennessee. She died in 1871 in
Huntington, Lorain, Ohio.
Betsy married Christopher R. Sage. Christopher was born in 1801 in
Tennessee. He died in 1868 in Huntington, Lorain, Ohio.
D:13 Jun 1949, Buried in Highland cemetery- Iola, Ks.
Just 2 years before the Titanic went down!
