this sweet face and smile is someone's lost treasure ... a very kind soul found a photo similar to this .. a smiling young boy ... in an antique shop in KY and searched the name on Ancestry and found ME ... the boy turned out to be my great uncle and I had never seen his face before, but recognized the resemblance at once ... I hope this young man can find his way back to his people ...
According to Ancestry there is an Indiana marriage license for a Roy Lewis Matthews born 5 Oct 1932 in Greene, Ohio. Father: Charles Matthews, Mother: Esther Nace, and Spouse: Beverly Beekman. Marriage 20 Oct 1951. Xenia is in the middle of Greene County Ohio.
Really good looking boy! This is like fresh air after watching so many pictures of ugly kids posted by their parents: "This is my gorgeous, perfect son in his first school day", LOL.
It is strange to think this young man, lived a whole life and possibly passed. It is written: there will be a resurrection (a standing up again and the old will become youthful again!)
Guessing there was no name or date on the back of picture. He was a cutie. Because of the tone of photo it probably early 20th century. The clothing may date it a little earlier. Interesting.
Thanks to these photographers we have these historic moments captured in time.
“Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution.” – Ansel Adams, photographer, 1902 - 1984
