50 years ago today, Robert Kennedy, brother of President Kennedy, was assassinated at the age of 42 in Los Angeles after winning the California presidential primary.
Fremont High school in Oakland, CA... I was a junior in HS...in a school that was at that time 60-40 black/white... and it was one of the saddest days, as it became all about black versus white, not that we lost not only MLK, but another Kennedy, sad that we didn’t come together as a nation like we did with JFK 😒
AncientFaces, yes. I watched as Ruby shot Oswald. My parents watched the news. Every day it was Vietnam. Saw a Vietnamese man executed. The Kennedy-King assassinations pre-empted everything for days on end. For my news loving parents, that was ok. It was really too much for children.
Really? He is standing there in $500.shoes $5,000. suit $125. tie and $900. coat. Why didn't he give his coat to the kid since, he had none in that cold air.
kid looks a little short, and I am wondering how you know what his bank ledger showed for his clothing costs? Im pretty sure those are NOT $500 shoes, you just made up some s***
Gloria, you are right about the fact that the Kennedys were and are a privileged family. I do believe that, as a family, they were raised to be aware of those less fortunate, and to give back to society and to those in need. Who knows, maybe the senator helped the young man in a private way.
I don't think any of the Kennedy's did anything from their heart . It was for show and to buy favors and respect and of course that old standby called tax deductable.
Gloria - Shame on you for looking at the MONEY instead of the Man. Why not look at the fact that this wealthy man is not sitting in the comfort of his home, but is in the ghetto, seeing who needs his help.
